Pope Francis’s condition is worrying following kidney failure.
According to the Associated Press, Pope Francis, the leader of the world’s Catholics, who has been hospitalized in Rome for more than a week with a lung infection, is also suffering from kidney failure and remains in serious but alert condition, the Vatican said in its latest update.
The Vatican said in a statement that Pope Francis has not had any breathing problems since Saturday night but still requires oxygen.
According to the Vatican, some blood tests indicate “initial and mild kidney failure” but doctors have said that the problem is under control.
The pope has been hospitalized in Rome’s Gemelli Hospital since February 14 with respiratory problems and multiple lung infections. Multiple lung infections are a very serious disease that can lead to swelling and tissue damage in both lungs and severe breathing problems. The Vatican had previously described the pope’s condition as “complicated” due to multiple lung infections.
Pope Francis is currently in critical condition after an infection in both of his lungs, and doctors are working to stabilize him. The pope has also received two units of blood transfusions due to anemia and problems with low platelet counts. Doctors say that if the infection enters the pope’s bloodstream, his body will react severely.
