PNN – Initial results of the Honduran presidential election indicate that the candidate supported by the U.S. president is in the lead.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, quoting the Associated Press, initial results of the Honduran presidential election show that two candidates from conservative parties are ahead of the candidate of the ruling party. Vote counting from about 43 percent of polling stations was completed by Monday morning.
The Honduran National Electoral Council announced that Nasry Asfura of the National Party of Honduras is leading with 40.54 percent of the votes in the initial count. Salvador Nasralla of the Liberal Party has obtained about 38.99 percent of the votes.
