President of Colombia: All sailors of the world should refrain from taking coal to Israel

PNN – In defense of his decision to stop the export of coal to Colombia, the President of Colombia requested all sectors, including “all the sailors of the world”, to prevent the transportation of coal to the occupied territories, the sudden suspension of bilateral trade relations in a situation where the Zionist Regime disobeying international laws is acceptable.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, announced through his user account on the X social network: All sailors of the world and our indigenous people should refrain from taking coal from any country for [Benyamin] Netanyahu (Prime Minister of the Zionist regime).

In response to his critics inside the country, the president of Colombia said: when a country does not comply with international laws, the sudden suspension of bilateral trade relations is permissible.

He added: I never thought that there is a Colombian who prefers business relations over the lives of children.

The World Trade Organization allows trade deals to be suspended when dealing with countries that violate international law, Petro noted.

Petro also recently called on the Swiss government to stop exporting coal to Israel.

The order to suspend the export of Colombian coal to the Zionist regime was announced while Bogotá shared the draft of this order last June.

According to this decree, “the Republic of Colombia considers military operations against the Palestinian people to be a violation of an essential norm of international law.”

The text also notes that more than 90% of Colombia’s exports to Israel depend on coal, which is used not only as a source of energy, but also as a “strategic resource for the manufacture of weapons, the mobilization of forces and the production of military equipment.”

Former Bolivian President Evo Morales, in support of Petro, described the Colombian president’s decision not to export more coal to Israel as “courageous” in a message through his account on the X social network.

Morales said: We welcome the courageous decision of President Gustavo Petro to stop Colombian coal exports to Israel. While some European countries offer their ports to facilitate the shipment of weapons to genocidal Israel, Colombia does everything in its power to prevent crimes against the Palestinian people.

The president of Colombia also said earlier in defense of his decision: They make bombs with Colombian coal to kill Palestinian children.

Colombian analyst Manuel Rairan said to the Sputnik news agency: The order of the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, is a powerful message to the world to “move from words to actions”.
