President of the United Nations General Assembly: Israel’s ban on UNRWA is intolerable

PNN – Philemon Young, the President of the United Nations General Assembly, expressed his concern about the action of the Zionist regime in banning the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in the Near East (UNRWA) by the Zionist regime and said that this action is intolerable.

According to Pakistan News Network’s report from “Al Jazeera”, Yang said in the meeting of the General Assembly on UNRWA: This decision is an intolerable affront to the authority of the General Assembly, international law and, above all, to the human dignity of innocent Palestinian civilians.

UNRWA was established by the United Nations General Assembly on December 8, 1949 to provide basic support, including food, health care and education, to tens of thousands of Palestinian refugees.

The Zionist regime announced that it has officially cut ties with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in the Near East (UNRWA).

Channel 12 of the Zionist regime reported on Monday that Tel Aviv has officially announced to the United Nations that it has severed its relations with UNRWA.

In this regard, Gilad Erdan, the representative of the Zionist regime in the United Nations, said: We have announced the termination of cooperation with this agency to the United Nations.

He claimed that Tel Aviv continues to cooperate with humanitarian organizations, but not with organizations that, in his opinion, serve terrorism.

Last Wednesday, the UN Security Council issued a statement warning against any attempt by the Zionist regime to limit and obstruct UNRWA’s activities.

In this statement, the members of the Security Council emphasized the vital role of UNRWA in providing vital humanitarian assistance to Palestinian refugees through essential educational programs, health, relief and social services and emergency assistance in the occupied territories of Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon and the Syrian Arab Republic. UNRWA is the backbone of all humanitarian operations in Gaza and no organization can replace UNRWA’s capacity and mission to serve Palestinian refugees and civilians in urgent need of critical humanitarian assistance.
