Prime Minister of Kuwait emphasized: Palestine is one of the most important issues of the Arab and Islamic world

Pak Sahafat – Prime Minister of Kuwait Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah said on Friday morning that Palestine is one of the most important issues in the Islamic world and the Arab world.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, quoted by Kuwaiti media, Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah said that regardless of the help of others, we are trying to make Iraq flourish and reach its regional and international status.

The prime minister of Kuwait also said that the maritime agreement in Khor Abdullah with Iraq is still in force.

Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah stated: Our emphasis is that Iraq must take concrete, decisive and immediate measures to deal with the consequences of the ruling [cancellation of navigation in Khor Abdullah].

The prime minister of Kuwait also said: We reserve the appropriate action for our right.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait delivered its objection note to the Iraqi Federal Court’s ruling on the maritime agreement in Khor Abdullah to the Baghdad ambassador in this country.

The Federal Supreme Court of Iraq announced on September 4 that the approval of the maritime agreement in Khor Abdullah between Iraq and Kuwait, which was approved by the Iraqi parliament in 2013, was against the constitution.

In this regard, the Iraqi court emphasized that the process of approving the aforementioned agreement was not carried out with a two-thirds majority of the parliament members, as stated in Article 61 of the Iraqi Constitution.

In this agreement, the port of Khor Abdallah, which is located in the north of the Persian Gulf between the two islands of Warbah and Boubian of Kuwait and the Faw Peninsula of Iraq, was divided between these two countries.

In another part of his speech, the Prime Minister of Kuwait repeated his claim regarding Al-Dara Square and said that the joint Al-Dara Square is the joint property of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and no other party has any right to it.

The Arash/Al-Dara (Pearl) field located in the north of the Persian Gulf was discovered in 1346 by the Japanese oil company AOC and its gas reserves are estimated to be around 11 to 22 trillion cubic meters.

In the final part of his speech, the Prime Minister of Kuwait also emphasized the necessity of redoubled efforts for a political solution to the Syrian crisis in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
