Prisoners’ families are angry with Netanyahu for rejecting the ceasefire agreement with Hamas

PNN – The families of the remaining prisoners from Gaza are angry with the Prime Minister of Israel for rejecting the ceasefire agreement with Hamas.

According to Pakistan News Network, CNN reported that the families of the remaining prisoners in Gaza are angry with Benjamin Netanyahu for rejecting the ceasefire agreement with Hamas.

72-year-old Adina Moshe, who is among the prisoners released during the previous ceasefire agreement, is one of the five former prisoners who recently took a stand against Netanyahu.

He said in a press conference attended by the families of prisoners: “Mr. Netanyahu, my word is with you. Everything is in your hands. Only you.”

Moshe continued: “My concern is that if you continue on this path and proceed towards the destruction of Hamas, there will be no hostages left to free.”

Another prisoner who was released in the previous agreement, named “Sahr Calderon”, is 16 years old. After thanking Netanyahu’s cabinet for his release, he said: “But what happens to my father who was released and it is not known if he is alive or dead?”

He added: “Bring him back and don’t make me lose my faith in our country once again.”

Rejecting Hamas’ plan for a ceasefire, Netanyahu said in the past few days: “Surrendering to the illusory demands of Hamas will only cause another disaster for Israel, another massacre.” He added that continued military pressure on Hamas is a “necessary condition” for Israel’s security.

CNN writes that the pressure on Netanyahu’s fragile cabinet, which has not been able to return the prisoners from Gaza, is increasing, and for the first time since October 7, Israeli demonstrators have called for early elections.

According to this analysis, as the war continues, the coalition cabinet that was formed after the October 7 attacks looks more fragile than the previous day, and the differences over Netanyahu’s strategy regarding the method of releasing prisoners are intensifying.

A few days ago, Hamas proposed a 3-stage plan for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, which included a cease-fire, exchange of prisoners and bodies, reconstruction of Gaza, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.

Each of the stages was supposed to be implemented in 45 days. Hamas had suggested that at the first stage, indirect negotiations with Israel regarding the cessation of military operations should take place. In the second 45 days, the Israeli forces will completely withdraw from Gaza, and in the third stage, the bodies and remains of the dead will be exchanged between the two sides.

Al-Aqsa Network had reported, quoting an official source in Hamas that After detailed consultations, the resistance leaders presented their amendments to the Paris ceasefire proposal to the mediators with a detailed timetable, which includes the ceasefire, the reconstruction of Gaza, the return of the displaced, the provision of immediate shelter for them, the evacuation of the wounded and the lifting of the imposed blockade.

In its analysis, CNN wrote that the families of the remaining prisoners in Gaza have become a leading voice of protest in the four months since the war, and enjoy widespread support among Israelis.

According to this report, they did not criticize Netanyahu’s cabinet for several months and kept themselves away from politics, but this situation has changed now.

Israel has determined the release of prisoners from Gaza and the destruction of Hamas as its war goals in Gaza. Despite this, the realization of both of these goals has reached a dead end.

A few days ago, the New York Times reported that a number of senior commanders of the Israeli army have now come to the conclusion that achieving both goals at the same time is not possible and that any long-term plan to destroy Hamas will inevitably lead to the death of prisoners.

In addition, many analysts have questioned the possibility of the complete destruction of Hamas even in occupied Palestine.
