Pro-Palestinian students staged a sit-in at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands

PNN – The Pro-Palestinian protesting students in the Netherlands occupied one of the sections of the University of Amsterdam and sat down there after the violent attack by the capital’s police and the destruction of their tents.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network from the Daily Mail newspaper, the Dutch media reported that after the police clashed with pro-Palestinian protesters, the demonstrators sat down in one of the departments of the University of Amsterdam (UVA).

In a statement, the police claimed that the university did not ask them to stop protesting, unlike on Monday evening, when riot police violently destroyed the protesters’ tents.

In a statement just after midnight, the University of Amsterdam said it was willing to reach a solution with students who have been protesting since Monday, claiming that the protests had caused significant damage to its buildings.

It is said that this university has closed several departments today.

Amsterdam police clashed with pro-Palestinian protesters in the Dutch capital yesterday, a day after riot police violently cleared protesters’ tents at the University of Amsterdam.

According to the report, Amsterdam police officers used batons against protesters who tried to block routes around the university building, as well as demonstrators who were marching towards the Holocaust memorial.
