Prominent Pakistani figures oppose Trump’s Gaza plan.
The stance of Pakistani party leaders and media figures on US President Donald Trump’s peace plan for a ceasefire in Gaza, which was raised last night in a press conference with the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, was announced while Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif welcomed this “so-called Trump peace plan” in a message.
This is while Pakistani figures, while criticizing their country’s Prime Minister’s support for the plan, emphasized that this hasty acceptance of the government is surprising and the Pakistani people consider it to lead to weakening of Palestinian ideals.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Ameer of the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, stated in a message: We categorically reject the Prime Minister’s stance. The UN Charter is clear: Every nation has the right to armed struggle if its territory is occupied, and no power can take away this right by force.
He added: Praising any so-called peace proposal that is built on the bodies of 66,000 Palestinian martyrs is standing with the oppressors. Without the will and consent of the Pakistani people, how can anyone dare to speak with the voice of Donald Trump?
Senator Allama Nasser Abbas Jafari, a member of the Senate and chairman of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), also criticized Trump’s new game alongside Netanyahu to further deprive the Palestinian people of their rights, saying: “No solution can succeed without the meaningful participation of the Palestinian people and all stakeholders. A top-down order from Washington has no chance.”
He added: “The plan marginalizes key Palestinian voices, calls for the dissolution of Hamas without addressing its support base, and remains vague on the issue of the establishment of a Palestinian state. It also ignores vital issues such as the status of Jerusalem and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.”
Senator Jafari stressed: “Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza is an incomplete and unfair proposal that ignores the rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people.”
