PNN – The President of the Republic of China and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh announced that they will upgrade the relations between the two countries to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from the news website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Xi Jinping said in his meeting with Sheikh Hasina: Since the establishment of official relations, China and Bangladesh have always respected and supported each other and treated each other equally.
He added: These two countries cooperate for win-win results and have created a pattern of friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between countries, especially between developing countries.
In this bilateral meeting, Xi emphasized: China would like to consider the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Bangladesh next year as an opportunity to deepen relations and advance the traditional plan of “One Belt, One Road” and expand and develop cooperation in promote comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields.
He added: China supports Bangladesh in continuing its independent foreign policy, following the path of development in accordance with national conditions, protecting national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and opposing any foreign interference.
Xi continued: China is willing to strengthen the alignment of development strategies with Bangladesh and deepen cooperation with it in economic, trade, investment, infrastructure and other fields.
He hoped that China would continue to cooperate closely with Bangladesh in international and regional affairs, strengthen coordination and cooperation in multilateral frameworks including the United Nations, promote common values ​​for mankind, and promote the building of a human society with a common future.
In her meeting with Xi, Sheikh Hasina said: Bangladesh hopes to use China’s experience, expand bilateral cooperation in economic, commercial, infrastructure, poverty alleviation and other fields, and strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
She added: The joint construction of the “Belt and Road” project has greatly contributed to the economic development and improvement of people’s livelihood in the region.
Hasina added: Bangladesh firmly adheres to the principle of one China, supports Beijing’s position on the issue of Taiwan, opposes foreign forces interfering in China’s internal affairs, and supports Beijing in protecting its core interests.
She said: I believe that comprehensive strategic partnership between Bangladesh and China will lead to further development.
