Putin: Contacts with the US are somewhat promising.
According to Sputnik, the Russian President spoke about the changes that have occurred since the new US administration came to power and emphasized that new contacts with the US administration are somewhat promising.
In this regard, Vladimir Putin said: Changes on the world stage are largely the result of the stability of the Russian armed forces on the battlefield. Russia will defend its national interests against any threat. Any attempt to split Russian society must be suppressed. Attempts to create division in Russian society and incite different ethnic groups and religions against each other must be prevented.
Putin added that Western elites are determined to maintain instability in the world and will try to disrupt the dialogue between Russia and the United States. The West’s actions have led to the collapse of their internal structure. Current partners in the US have shown their willingness to abandon old ideas and thoughts.
The Russian President noted: We are not opposed to a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian crisis. We must use our diplomatic and intelligence capabilities to thwart attempts to disrupt negotiations with the United States.
Putin also emphasized that further measures must be taken to defend Russia’s borders.
