Putin: If Russia’s enemies seek to escalate tensions, there is no problem!
According to Sputnik, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in response to a question from Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin about whether the current developments can be considered equivalent to World War III, acknowledged that the risks are growing and Moscow’s enemies are escalating tensions.
Putin said: “You know, there is no need to scare anyone. There are many risks, and these risks are growing. We can see what our current enemies are doing; they are escalating tensions. If they want to do so, there is nothing to stop them!”
He added: “We will always respond to any challenge. We always do this. When our current enemies and potential partners hear, understand, and comprehend this, then the understanding needed to achieve agreement and peace will emerge.”
Stressing that Moscow establishes ties with other countries only based on the interests of the Russian state, the Russian president added: “If we establish relations with someone, we will do it only based on the interests of Russia.”
In response to a question about the possibility of improving relations between Russia and the United States, he emphasized: “Anything is possible if there is a desire for it. We have never lost our desire and interest. Russia is ready to compromise, but not at the expense of its own interests.”
