Putin: Restoring Russia-US relations is difficult.
According to Al Jazeera, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in a statement that he had been informed of US President Donald Trump’s call to show mercy to Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region.
He continued: “If Ukrainian soldiers in this region lay down their weapons, we will guarantee their safety and treat them well.”
Pointing out that it is difficult to resume relations between Russia and the United States, Putin stated that the Trump administration will do everything in its power to restore at least some of the relations with Russia.
The Russian president stated that to implement Trump’s request, Ukrainian authorities must order their army to surrender in Kursk.
