Qatar: No progress has been made in the talks between Israel and Hamas.

Majid al-Ansari, the spokesman of Qatar’s foreign ministry, said that his country’s efforts to mediate about Gaza are still ongoing and that there are contacts between all parties. “There has been no progress in the negotiations between Israel and Hamas in recent days.”

He also noted that Doha disagrees with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements regarding the pressure that Qatar should exert on senior Hamas officials.

He stated that despite the existing challenges, the negotiations for the new prisoner exchange agreement are continuing, and emphasized that in the current negotiations regarding the new agreement, the issue of the humanitarian situation has priority because the humanitarian situation and the amount of destruction in Gaza is unprecedented.

Al-Ansari further noted: The situation of the Palestinian brothers in the north of Gaza is very worrying, we have always demanded that aid reach all areas of Gaza. Even though the population in Rafah is now one and a half million people, the situation in that area is worrying.

He also emphasized that we do not accept any attack on Rafah.

According to the United Nations, news and diplomatic sources announced on Monday local time: Washington has opposed a ceasefire in any UN action on the Israeli war, but the text of the United States draft is the same tone as President Joe Biden. The president of this country used it last week in a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The US presented the text after Algeria called for a vote on its draft resolution at the Security Council on Tuesday.

Until now, the efforts of the UN Security Council to stop the aggression of the Zionist regime against the residents of the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7 of last year, have failed due to the all-out support of the United States and its use of the veto privilege.
