Qatar’s foreign minister expressed hope for a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Speaking about the latest developments in ending the war in Gaza, Qatar’s foreign minister announced that there are still differences regarding the prisoner exchange agreement and there are problems in the humanitarian aspect of the negotiations.
Mohammad Bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, said in a speech on Saturday night: “During the last week, we made progress on the agreement, but in recent days we encountered differences.”
At the same time, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar emphasized: We will probably reach an agreement for the exchange of prisoners soon, and we will use all our efforts for this purpose.
Abdul Rahman Al-Thani continued: “If we can specify a humanitarian package in this agreement, we will be able to put aside the obstacles.”
The Qatari official stated: that Doha is making every effort to reach an agreement to reduce human suffering in Gaza.
Qatar’s Foreign Minister stated that we should be realistic about the negotiations regarding the Palestinian issue, and added: “No progress has been made in the talks regarding the solution between the two countries.”
He pointed out that time is not in our favor and with the arrival of Ramadan, the situation will be dangerous for the region.
The Prime Minister of Qatar expressed his hope for the formation of a unified Palestinian government in the West Bank and Gaza and said: “We see no reason to continue the war in Gaza.” The war must stop today without any preconditions. We see no reason to continue the war and stopping it will lead to the return of prisoners.
