Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ireland emphasized the need to intensify international efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and called for the release of prisoners and the facilitation of the arrival of humanitarian aid to this crisis-stricken region.
He also welcomed France’s decision to officially recognize the state of Palestine in September and considered it an important step towards the realization of a two-state solution.
Also, Pedro Sánchez, the Prime Minister of Spain, welcomed France’s decision to recognize the state of Palestine and emphasized that this action, together with Spain and a number of other European countries, is a step towards supporting the two-state solution.
He stated: We must act united to preserve what Netanyahu is trying to destroy. The two-state solution is the only possible option to end the crisis.
At the same time, Bloomberg reported, quoting informed sources, that a number of British cabinet ministers, including the ministers of health, justice and culture, have asked Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Keir Starr to start the process of recognizing the state of Palestine as soon as possible.
This is while French President Emmanuel Macron’s decision to recognize the state of Palestine has faced sharp and angry reactions from the authorities of the Zionist regime and the American government.
Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Zionist regime, condemned this action and claimed: Macron’s decision is a reward for terrorism and Hamas and it carries the risk of creating a new base under the influence of Iran, similar to Gaza. In the current situation, the Palestinian state will not be a ground for peace, but a platform for the destruction of Israel.
Yisrael Katz, the Minister of War of the Zionist regime, also claimed: France’s decision is surrender to terrorism and a reward for Hamas. Tel Aviv will never allow the formation of a Palestinian entity that threatens the security and existence of Israel and damages the historical rights of Jews in the occupied territories.
At the same time, America also expressed its clear opposition to this decision. The US State Department announced that it will not participate in next week’s meeting about the two-state solution.
The US foreign minister also called this decision reckless and claimed that such an action only serves the propaganda and narrative of Hamas and will complicate the peace process.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that Paris intends to recognize the state of Palestine during the United Nations General Assembly meetings in September this year.
