Rejection of the US government’s request to deport immigrants to third countries

PNN – The US government’s request to cancel the ban on deporting immigrants to countries other than their countries of origin was rejected.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the US government’s request to cancel the ban on deporting immigrants to countries other than their countries of origin, including Libya and El Salvador, was rejected regardless of their concerns about their security.

Accordingly, the Boston Court of First Appeals refused to suspend the judge’s order in order to ensure that the immigrants have an opportunity to present their claims that they may face torture or persecution by being sent to countries other than their country of origin and not named in their immigration case.

On April 18, Judge Brian Murphy barred the government from quickly deporting hundreds of immigrants to countries other than their countries of origin with which they have no ties.

In this case, a ban on quick deportation has been issued for those immigrants who have not been given the chance to explain that they will face torture or harassment if they are sent to these countries.

Meanwhile, the Justice Department acknowledged that Judge Murphy’s ruling would prevent thousands of deportation orders from being carried out and harm the president’s ability to negotiate deportations.

But a three-judge panel of the Supreme Court expressed concern about the Department of Homeland Security’s new directive to control and monitor this type of deportation of immigrants and the irreparable harm that can result from their wrongful deportation.

Earlier in February, the Department of Homeland Security ordered immigration officials to review cases in which immigrants had legal protections that prevented them from being returned to their countries of origin and see if they could be re-arrested, held in immigration detention centers, and sent to third countries.

Immigrant rights groups acknowledged on behalf of a group of immigrants that they want to prevent the quick deportation of these immigrants.

But on February 18 of this year, the judicial authorities were ordered to review all the cases of this group of immigrants, including those who had met the conditions of their release, due to being held again in these centers and deported to a third country.

The lawyers of these immigrants announced that with the implementation of this policy, many people are at risk of deportation to countries where they may face many dangers. These migrants are not even given the chance to raise their claims about whether they will face torture or persecution if they are sent to these countries.

The Trump administration has tried to force immigrants to leave the United States by using various methods, including threatening heavy fines, trying to cancel the legal status of immigrants, sending immigrants to the dreaded Guantanamo and El Salvador prisons.

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Homeland Security, the US government has expelled 152 thousand immigrants from the US soil until May 6.

Before winning the US presidential election, Trump promised that he would start a plan to deport immigrants on American soil, therefore, this policy has been started since January 20, the day of the inauguration of the president. By signing executive orders, he has made it possible for immigration officials to arrest non-criminal immigrants. Also, according to Trump’s order, other federal institutions have been asked to help the immigration office in this direction. The fight against illegal immigrants has also been on Trump’s agenda.

Hours after entering the White House, he started various executive orders and measures to deal with illegal immigrants. The agreement with Venezuela, Guatemala, Cuba, India, Peru and Honduras, and the transfer of illegal immigrants using military planes to these countries, as well as the plan to transfer immigrants to Guantanamo Bay, the declaration of a state of emergency on the border of Mexico with the United States, and the deportation of immigrants suspected of being members of terrorist groups and criminals using the Alien Enemy Act, have been among these measures.
