PNN – Two American senators supporting the Zionist regime are asking the American Congress to permanently stop the country’s aid to UNRWA.
According to Pakistan News Network, Senator Mitt Romney and Senator Mike Lee from Utah state have asked the Joe Biden administration to permanently stop funding to the UN agency in Gaza.
Following the claims of the Zionist regime that at least 12 UN agency employees were involved in Gaza during the October 7 attacks by Hamas against the Zionists, the Senate legislators in a written letter demanded a permanent suspension of financial aid to the UN Relief and Works Agency.
The charges come against UN agency workers who have been supporting 2 million civilians in Gaza under the guise of humanitarian aid, and more than 100 of whom were killed in the first few weeks of the Gaza war.

In the mentioned letter, the decision of “Donald Trump”, the former president of the United States, is also mentioned. The decision, which was based on the suspension of financial aid to UNRWA, was canceled by Biden when he entered the White House. The United States has been the biggest financial supporter of UNRWA since 2021 by giving 370 million dollars. However, the Congress of this country has sought to cancel its support all these years.
Previously, “John Kirby”, the spokesman for the national security of the White House, also accepted the accusations against UNRWA employees and called for more investigations in this field. However, Republicans have called for tougher measures, stressing in the letter that the United States should permanently end aid to UNRWA.
Senate Republicans have already introduced several bills to Congress to do just that. The Accountability and Transparency Act has been one of those cases, the implementation of which has been supported by Romney and Mike Lee.
Despite all the claims made against UNRWA, the United Nations continues to emphasize the need to continue supporting this agency during the Gaza war and has stated that stopping financial aid to UNRWA will make the process of supporting Palestinian civilians very difficult.
