Resigned American official: Instead of putting pressure on Israel, Washington sends them weapons

PNN – Anil Shilin, one of the officials of the US Foreign Ministry, who resigned in protest against the policies of the Joe Biden government regarding the Gaza war and financial, military and political support from the Zionist regime, said: Instead of pressuring Israel (regime) to send aid to Gaza, the US government sends them weapons.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al Jazeera, Shilin stating that no one cared about our concerns regarding the consequences of our policies on civilians in Gaza, said: I came to the conclusion that it is not possible to continue working in such conditions.

This resigned official emphasized that there are many people in the US government who, although they are unable to resign for some reasons, believe that Washington should be on the good side in the war between Israel and the people of Gaza, and said: The US government is still sending weapons to Israel, and it sends the wrong message to the world.

According to Al Jazeera, Enil Shailin, one of the senior officials of the US State Department who works in the field of human rights, has resigned in protest against the genocide of the Zionist regime’s army in Gaza and the US government’s support for this regime.

Arab Parliament: The purpose of the military invasion of Gaza is to destroy the identity of the Palestinian nation

The Washington Post newspaper announced that 38-year-old Shailin resigned from his position as the foreign affairs officer of the Middle East Office of Democracy and Human Rights in the US State Department after a flood of criticism and protests against the war against Gaza within the ministry.

On October 7, 2023, the Palestinian resistance groups launched the “Al-Aqsa Storm” operation from Gaza against the positions of the Israeli regime, and finally, on November 24, 2023, a four-day temporary ceasefire was established, or the pause for the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and the Zionist regime.

This pause in the war continued for seven days and finally on Friday morning (December 1, 2023) the temporary ceasefire ended and the Israeli regime resumed attacks against Gaza.

In order to retaliate against the attacks of the “Al-Aqsa Storm”, to compensate for its defeat and stop the resistance operations, this regime, with the support of the United States and some Western countries, has closed the crossings of the Gaza Strip and is bombarding this area. These crimes caused the authorities of Tel Aviv to be presented to the International Court of Justice on the charge of “genocide”.
