Resumption of German arms sales to the Zionist regime.
Reuters quoted the German official (who was not named) as saying: “The German government will lift the order that led to the suspension of some arms sales to Israel from next week, following the Gaza ceasefire agreement last month.”
As a general rule, Berlin will make decisions on arms exports on a case-by-case basis and respond accordingly to further developments, a government spokesman said. The decision will allow the lifting of the arms export suspension order, which has been in place since August, from November 24.
Germany is the second-largest arms exporter to Israel after the United States, and suspended some arms sales to the regime in August under public pressure over the Gaza war.
Berlin’s decision to ban arms exports to Israel affected the sale of weapons and systems that could be used in the Gaza war, but did not include weapons that Tel Aviv needs to defend itself against external attacks.
Reuters wrote: A German government spokesman declined to express his country’s commitment to supporting a lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians based on a two-state solution and the possibility of Germany’s continued participation in supporting reconstruction in Gaza.
According to IRNA, Germany has refused to take decisive measures against the Zionist regime and recognize an independent Palestinian state, and has resorted to suppressing Palestinian supporters.
Last month, UN experts warned in a report about the repression of Palestinian supporters in Germany and announced that the activities of solidarity movements with Palestine in this European country have become more limited.
