PNN – Reuters has reported that Saudi Arabia has set conditions for normalizing relations with the Israeli regime ahead of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s upcoming visit to the United States.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Gulf sources told Reuters that Riyadh has informed Washington through diplomatic channels that it will only agree to normalize relations with Israel if a clear agreement is reached on the establishment of a Palestinian state.

While media sources consider Mohammed bin Salman’s upcoming visit to the United States an important step in the normalization process with Israel, the same sources said that Riyadh seeks to avoid any diplomatic missteps and wants to ensure alignment between Saudi and U.S. positions before making any public statements.

The news agency also quoted Jonathan Panikoff, former U.S. Deputy National Intelligence Officer for the Middle East, as saying that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will not agree to normalization with Israel in the near future without a reliable path toward the creation of a Palestinian state.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman visited Saudi Arabia earlier this month. This is his first visit since the 2018 killing of Saudi-American journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
