Reuters: Russia’s withdrawal does not mean leaving Syria

PNN – In a report, Reuters news agency quoted knowledgeable sources as saying that Russia’s withdrawal from some areas in Syria does not mean leaving the country.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Reuters news agency quoted four Syrian officials who did not want to reveal their names: Russia is withdrawing from the front lines in northern Syria and the Alawi mountains, but has not abandoned its two main bases in the country.

Referring to the strategic alliance between Russia and Syria during the rule of Hafez Assad and his son Bashar Assad, Reuters evaluated the future of Hmeimim airbase in Latakia and Tartus naval base as Moscow’s two Mediterranean bases in an aura of uncertainty.
