Riyad Mansour: Is America allowed to veto any support for Gaza?
According to Al Jazeera, the representative of the Palestinian Authority in the United Nations said at the Security Council meeting to review the developments in Gaza: Israel is deliberately targeting the workers of humanitarian organizations in the Gaza Strip to prevent them from helping Palestinian civilians.
Riyad Mansour continued his speech and added: We support the proposal of the Secretary General of the United Nations to launch an urgent vaccination campaign to prevent the spread of polio in Gaza. We want the approval of two 14-day ceasefires so that more than 640,000 Palestinian children can be vaccinated against polio.
He went on to criticize America’s policies regarding the use of veto against the Palestinian nation and stated: Will the Security Council allow a country to veto any action, including the permission of polio vaccination in Gaza?
Mansour pointed out that the Israeli cabinet does not care about the lives of Gaza civilians or even the release of Israeli prisoners. We ask the UN Security Council to set a specific time for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The representative of the Palestinian Authority also pointed to the crimes committed by the Zionists in the West Bank and said: “We cannot allow the attacks of settlers and Israeli security forces against Palestinians in the West Bank to continue.”
