Riyadh’s message to Washington: Tel Aviv is the major obstacle to peace.

The Zionist network “Kan” quoted a senior official in the Saudi royal family as saying that Riyadh has taken a firm stance on the escalation of tensions by the Israeli regime in the region and has clearly conveyed it to the US government.

According to the report, the Saudi official emphasized that assessments in Riyadh show that the Zionist regime is not interested in achieving peace and, on the contrary, is clearly willing to continue the option of war.

According to him, the current policies of the Zionist regime’s cabinet towards several fronts, including Syria, Lebanon, and the West Bank, play a direct role in complicating the regional situation and undermining any diplomatic efforts to bring the positions closer.

The source added that Saudi Arabia has clearly conveyed these messages to the US government and has placed the responsibility for sabotaging the path to normalizing relations and future political initiatives on the Israeli side.

The report continues: Riyadh believes that the escalation of military operations on the ground and their expansion to neighboring countries and the West Bank are completely contrary to the fundamental requirements for establishing lasting stability in the Middle East.

These revelations come at a critical time when the region is witnessing intensive diplomatic moves to reduce tensions, which puts additional pressure on Washington to take action to curb the increasing escalation of the Zionist regime if it wants to preserve the chances of resuming regional negotiations.

Earlier, the American website “Axios” had revealed, citing several senior US officials, that US President Donald Trump, in a confidential phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, called for the initiation of practical steps to normalize Riyadh’s relations with Tel Aviv after the Gaza war stopped. This call took place after the “Gaza Peace” meeting was held in Egypt and had not been made public prior to its occurrence.

Trump had previously expressed hope that Saudi Arabia would join the Abraham Accords “soon,” agreements signed in 2020 with the UAE, Bahrain, and Morocco.
