Rob Malley: The military option against Iran was wrong; Tehran stands its ground.
According to MSNBC, Rob Malley, the former US special representative for Iran, said in a speech about the US and Zionist aggression against Iran, “I think the military option was the wrong option for several reasons. It doesn’t solve the problem. It leads to all kinds of uncertainties and unpredictable outcomes that I think we’re going to have to live with, not just in the days and weeks but in the months and years to come.”
The former US special representative for Iran continued: “I think if I were the supreme leader of Iran, I could have imagined in the last few years and said to myself, I need a nuclear bomb. … You’re talking about a country that’s really standing on its own two feet.”
He added, “The ballistic missile program. I mean, they’re always a priority. So Tehran sees it as part of its national security objectives. Whether there are sanctions or not, they’re going to do it.” Israel does not like the prospect of Iran having more international economic dealings with Europe and perhaps with the United States.
