PNN – After presenting the resolution proposed by America for a ceasefire in Gaza, Russia and China, while opposing it, raised questions regarding the acceptance of the text of this resolution by the Zionist regime.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from Reuters news agency, Russia and China, as the two permanent members of the Security Council who have veto power, yesterday expressed concern about the draft resolution of the United States presented by the President of the country, Joe Biden, for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Algeria, as the only Arab member of this council, opposes the American proposal. Reuters has noted that the adoption of a resolution in the Security Council requires nine votes in favor, without vetoes from the main members, including the United States, France, Britain, China and Russia.
A week ago, Biden presented a three-phase ceasefire plan for the Gaza Strip and described it as an Israeli initiative.
The United States is seeking international support in this proposed one-page resolution that it sent to the Security Council on Saturday.

In this draft, while welcoming the ceasefire, which it described as “acceptable” for Israel, it asks Hamas to accept it and asks both sides to fully implement the stated conditions without delay and unconditionally.
Some details of the proposal include a complete ceasefire in the Gaza Strip as part of phase one and a permanent end to hostilities by mutual agreement in phase two.
According to Russian and Chinese diplomats, some members of the Security Council have raised questions about whether Israel has actually accepted the plan and have asked the international body to adhere to a request made in March for an immediate ceasefire and the unconditional release of all prisoners.
In the meantime, Russia has also submitted amendments to the text proposed by the United States, which includes a request to Hamas and Israel to accept this proposal and request an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire.
Moscow has also requested in its amended text that the first phase of the ceasefire should remain in place while the negotiations on the second phase continue.
Reuters reports that US negotiators, along with Egypt and Qatar, have been trying to broker a ceasefire for months. In the meantime, Hamas demands a permanent end to the war in the Gaza Strip and Israel’s withdrawal from this besieged area.
According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, since the beginning of the Israeli attacks on this strip, more than 36,500 Palestinians have been martyred, and more than 15,000 of them were children.
