The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office said in this regard: The Amnesty International Center in London serves as a training center for international Russophobic projects funded by supporters of the Kiev regime.
According to the media outlet, Russian authorities closed Amnesty International’s local office in April 2022; a few weeks after President Vladimir Putin ordered the launch of his country’s special operation in Ukraine in February 2022.
The “undesirable” designation effectively bars the human rights organization from operating within Russia and exposes its employees and affiliates to possible criminal prosecution.
