Russia has no plans to deploy nuclear weapons in space.

According to Rashatudi, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Moscow has no plans to deploy nuclear weapons in space.

He called the publication of Western media reports about Russia’s decision to deploy nuclear weapons in space as “fake news” and emphasized in the meeting of the National Security Council of this country that Moscow has no plans in this regard.

Putin also confirmed in early March that Moscow has always opposed the deployment of nuclear weapons in space and demands compliance with all existing agreements in this field. He clarified: This question is related to the uproar that has recently been raised in the West, including in the United States, regarding the deployment of nuclear weapons in space, and our position is unambiguous. We have always been against and we are still against the deployment of nuclear weapons in space.

The Russian president noted that the United States cannot simultaneously demand the defeat of Russia and talk about strategic stability.

He said: America and the West, on the one hand, want the strategic defeat of Russia, and on the other hand, they claim that they are ready and willing to negotiate with us in the field of strategic stability, and they believe that the two issues are unrelated – this will not be possible. If they seek our strategic failure, “we have to think independently about what strategic stability means for our country.”

He emphasized that Russia “does not reject anything, but we must know what they want”. The Russian president concluded: “As a general rule, they want to achieve unilateral advantages, which does not happen.”

According to the report of Rasha Today, Sergei Shoigu, the Minister of Defense of Russia also said in the meeting with Putin that “there is no project to deploy nuclear weapons in space.”

Explaining the news based on the possibility of Russia acquiring a space nuclear weapon, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the United States is publishing malicious claims to attribute unpleasant actions and intentions to Moscow that do not correspond to reality.
