PNN – Vasiliy Nebenzia, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, said: Israel’s airstrikes on Syrian areas are a violation of the basic rules of international law.
According to Pakistan News Network’s report from “Tass” news agency, he noted at the UN Security Council meeting: We are particularly concerned about the escalation of Israeli airstrikes against civilian installations in Syria, especially from the Blue Line area. Such irresponsible actions create the risk of dragging Syria, as well as a number of its neighboring countries, into a complete tension.
Nebenzia continued: We strongly condemn such attacks on Syria and consider them a clear violation of the sovereignty of this country and the basic rules of international law.
This senior Russian official noted: We also know that Israel’s attacks lead to serious humanitarian consequences, which UN institutions must respond to. However, the silence of the West in this regard is hypocritical, because they are certainly aware of the dangers of the current developments.
Nebenzia added: Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip have a negative impact on the situation in Syria. The active foreign intervention, along with the continuous foreign presence in the north and northeast of Syria, greatly increases the tensions on the Syrian-Israeli border.

In recent years, the Zionist regime has repeatedly attacked Damascus and various regions of Syria with air strikes, which have been repelled by the timely interception of Damascus air defenses in most cases.
The Israeli regime’s aerial attacks are happening at a time when the Syrian government has sent letters to the United Nations and the UN Security Council, condemning these attacks and asking them to stop.
Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations emphasized that there is no military solution to the Syrian crisis and said: The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the Israeli regime’s illegal military attacks in Syria provocative and strongly condemns them, and the Zionist regime must accept responsibility for these aggressive actions and put an end to them immediately.
Amir Saeed Irwani, Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, added at the meeting of the United Nations Security Council about the situation in the Middle East and Syria: This month is the 13th anniversary of the beginning of the conflict in Syria. During these 13 years, the Syrian people have suffered a lot and this conflict has had adverse consequences on the peace, security and stability of the entire region.
The most senior diplomat of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the United Nations added: Since the beginning of the conflict in 2011, some countries have pursued their political agenda in Syria through military solutions. By ignoring the basic principles of the United Nations Charter, they have violated the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and supported terrorist and separatist groups.
Irvani clarified: Unfortunately, after 13 years, these countries are resorting to sanctions as a means to achieve goals that they could not achieve through military or diplomatic channels.
