PNN – The Federal Security Service of Russia announced that it has thwarted the plan of the Ukrainian security services against a Russian politician in the Zaporizhia region.
According to Pakistan News Network, citing Sputnik, the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) announced on Monday by publishing a statement that a terrorist attack against a political figure in the Zaporizhia region was prevented.
“The crime was supposed to be committed by Vitaly Dyatlenko, a Russian citizen who was employed by the Ukrainian security service,” the statement said.
According to the FSB, when an attempt was made to arrest Dyatlenko, he offered armed resistance and was neutralized. This operation did not result in any material damage or human casualties.
The Federal Security Service of Russia announced in mid-Bahman that “Ilya Ponomarev”, a former member of the State Duma of this country (who is known as a foreign agent), was accused of high treason.
The statement of the Federal Security Service of Russia states that “Based on the collected data, the FSB investigation department has opened a criminal case (related to Ilya Ponomarev); A case involving a combination of crimes under Article 275 (treason in the form of siding with the enemy), part 2, article 205.5 (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization recognized under Russian law), part 2, article 205.2 (contact public communications on the Internet for terrorist activities), and section “v” of Part 2, Article 280.4 (public communications on the Internet with the purpose of undermining the security of Russia).”
In another part of the statement, it is stated that “investigations are still ongoing and the actions of all those who were involved and participated in accordance with the Russian criminal law will be identified and accomplices of the Kiev regime will be severely punished.”
As reported in the statement of the Federal Security Organization of Russia, Ponomarev has actively supported the Kiev regime since 2014 and publicly condemned the annexation of Crimea to Russia. Since the start of the special military operation, he has publicly declared his support for the armed units of the Russian Volunteer Forces and the Russian Liberation Army (both known as terrorist organizations in Russia), which are based in Ukraine and fight against Russian law.
According to the FSB, this former Russian lawmaker committed high treason because he asked Russian citizens to join the Ukrainian army and fight against Russia. He also called for measures to seize power by removing the current officials and the president of Russia.
