PNN – The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing hope that the United States will refrain from escalating tensions over Venezuela.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al Jazeera, reported that today, Thursday, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the ongoing and deliberate escalation of tensions around Venezuela is evident. Moscow hopes that the U.S. will avoid further escalation regarding Venezuela, warning that such actions could lead to unpredictable consequences.

The statement added that Russia supports Maduro’s approach to protecting Venezuela’s interests and sovereignty. Moscow has consistently backed the normalization of dialogue between the U.S. and Venezuela and steps aimed at reducing tensions.
The U.S. government, particularly during Donald Trump’s administration, sought to challenge the legitimacy of Caracas by leveling accusations, including drug trafficking, against Nicolás Maduro and senior Venezuelan officials, thereby creating a legal and political pretext for overthrowing the Caracas government.
Washington used these accusations as a justification to intensify sanctions, freeze assets, and increase international pressure on Venezuela—claims that the Maduro government has described as entirely political and baseless.
