Russian lawmaker: Biden intends to hand over the scorched earth to Trump

PNN – Leonid Slutsky, the senior Russian lawmaker, said that US President Joe Biden is trying to hand over the scorched earth to US President-elect Donald Trump before leaving the White House and complicate the resumption of dialogue between Moscow and Washington for his successor.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, in an interview with TASS news agency on Friday night, Selotsky said, referring to the new US sanctions package against Russia: the new US sanctions against Russia’s energy sector are an indication of this.

He, who is the head of the International Committee in the Russian State Duma, added that these new sanctions have increased the price of oil, “but it seems that the Democrats do not care about the economic well-being of their countrymen. This means a new round of escalation in the sanctions war.

The US Treasury Department on Friday introduced a comprehensive sanctions package aimed at limiting Russia’s revenues from oil exports and imposed broad sanctions against major oil companies, the shadow fleet and Russian officials.

These sanctions include 183 oil tankers, several of their insurance companies, several government officials and CEOs of various oil refining companies.

The sanctions also target Russia’s largest oil producers, including Gazprom, Surgut Naftgaz, Russia Gas Alliance and Gazprom’s shelf project.

According to the claim of the US Treasury Department, some of the sanctioned ships were not only involved in the transportation of Russian oil, but also Iranian oil. This list includes ships flying the flags of Russia, Panama, Barbados and Gabon.
