In the meantime, Russia, as always, in the role of mediator in the region, of course, with the aim of increasing its regional power, presented the draft resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the UN Security Council.
The UN Security Council did not accept Russia’s draft resolution on an immediate ceasefire in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone because it did not receive the necessary nine votes to receive this document. Five countries, Russia, China, the United Arab Emirates, Gabon and Mozambique, voted in favor of this resolution, while the United States, Great Britain, France and Japan opposed it, and six other countries abstained.
It should be noted that in this document, Russia calls for an immediate, sustainable and fully respected humanitarian ceasefire. The resolution calls for the safe release of all hostages, the unhindered provision and distribution of humanitarian aid, and the creation of conditions for the evacuation of civilians.
Vladimir Putin announced that Russia has always supported the creation of an independent Palestinian state regardless of the escalation of conflicts.
Putin has not yet presented a peace initiative regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, because it requires the establishment of common positions among the political leaders of the region and a fundamental handling of the disputed issue.
According to the Russian authorities, in order to create conditions for peace, an equal distance must be maintained with the conflicting parties. Russian officials believe that Russia can play an effective role in the peace process and prevent the war from spreading to other parts of the region.
From the point of view of the Russian authorities, the immediate instructions not only do not solve the problems, but are the reason for the war to be extended to other parts of the region.
In a discussion with Middle East leaders about the situation in the region, Putin emphasized the inadmissibility of violence against civilians.
It is worth mentioning that the President of Russia discussed with the President of Egypt about the assistance of the Egyptian side in the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, the President of Egypt called the movement of Palestinian refugees to Egypt as the beginning of the war and tension extending beyond the current borders.

In a conversation with the leaders of the Middle East, Vladimir Putin has once again confirmed the principled position of the Russian Federation regarding the creation of an independent Palestine. In all the talks, the main attention has been focused on the severity of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

After talking with the presidents of Palestine, Iran, Syria and Egypt, Vladimir Putin spoke with Benjamin Netanyahu on the phone and emphasized Russia’s readiness to end the conflict in the region and resolve it through peaceful means.
With the gradual change of the international system and its multi-polarization, there is no place for the Western discourse and narrative on the Palestinian issue, and a new position based on the necessity of respecting the rights of the Palestinian nation must be adopted in this context.
According to Russian officials, the failure of America’s Middle East policy and its impact on the escalation of tensions and the current battle between the Zionist regime and the Palestinian resistance groups makes sense considering Washington’s contradictory positions in this field.
