Saudi Arabia demanded the continuation of financial aid to UNRWA.
Saudi Arabia announced that donors to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) should continue to support this organization.
The Saudi State News Agency reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country announced in a statement that the supporters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees “must continue their role in supporting humanitarian missions towards Palestinian refugees.”
After the action of the United States, Australia, and Canada in the context of stopping financial aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees, it was reported today that some other leaders of European countries are joining this anti-Palestinian coalition.
Six European countries stopped their financial aid to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees due to allegations that some of its staff were involved in the October 7 attacks by Hamas on the Zionist regime.
England, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Finland have joined the United States, Australia, and Canada in suspending financial aid to this UN agency. Meanwhile, the aid of this organization is considered one of the most important vital resources to support the people of Gaza in the current situation.
According to the Saudi state news agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country wrote in its statement that continued support for UNRWA will “reduce the effects of the humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories.”
The Zionist regime said that it would stop the activity of this agency in Gaza after its war against this barricade.
In its statement, this ministry of the Saudi government also mentioned the sacrifices of UNRWA employees, including their martyrdom and injuries “due to Israel’s blind bombing against aid centers in the Gaza Strip.”
The United Nations announced in a statement in 2022 that Saudi Arabia is “one of the largest donors of financial aid to UNRWA” and has contributed about one billion dollars to the agency over the past decade.
Saudi Arabia allocated another two million dollars to UNRWA a week after Hamas’s Al-Aqsa storm operation against the Zionist regime on the 7th of October.
