Saudi Arabia invites southern Yemeni factions to Riyadh conference.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the country’s Foreign Ministry welcomed in a statement the request of Rashad Al-Alimi, the head of the Saudi-affiliated Southern Yemen Presidential Council, to hold a conference to resolve the crisis in Southern Yemen in Riyadh.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry also invited all southern Yemeni factions to participate in this conference to find just solutions and respond to the legitimate demands of the residents of southern Yemen.

On the other hand, the Southern Yemeni Transitional Council stated on Saturday morning that Saudi air force planes targeted eastern Yemen at the same time as the ground attack by northern forces affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.

The statement said: The aggressive war against our people is a clear violation of international law, and the people of the south and its armed forces act responsibly, while reserving the full right to legitimate self-defense.

Also, the Southern Transitional Council forces withdrew from the “Al-Safaq” point in the Rakhia district of Hadramaut province after the advance of the “Homeland Shield” forces (affiliated with Saudi Arabia).

Previously, the Saudi Foreign Ministry issued a statement calling on the UAE to withdraw all its forces from Yemen within 24 hours and to stop any military and financial support from any side in the country.

In recent weeks, with Saudi Arabia withdrawing from areas in southern Yemen, ceding its positions to the UAE, and changing the balance of power in the south of the country in favor of the Southern Transitional Council, the Yemeni crisis is moving towards a more complex and dangerous stage.
