Saudi Arabia warns Israel: West Bank annexation will have major and dangerous consequences.
The Palestinian news agency Ma’a, citing Israeli television, added that Saudi political figures, in a confidential communication with Israel, expressed their absolute opposition to the annexation of the West Bank, even if it were limited to the Jordan Valley.
According to the report, the messages sent by Saudi officials to the Israeli regime stated: “The annexation [of the West Bank] will have significant and dangerous consequences at all levels.”
According to these sources, Saudi Arabia has significant economic and security influence and can even close its airspace, a threat that every Israeli will feel when traveling abroad.
The Israeli Channel 12 added that the Saudi message is clear and concise: “Annexation will close the door to any future agreement with Israel.”
The strong warning comes on the eve of a significant vote at the United Nations General Assembly in which member states will recognize the state of Palestine and the joint French-Saudi plan to establish it.
According to the Ma’a news agency, even those close to US President Donald Trump have warned that annexation could weaken relations between Washington and Arab countries.
Ma’a added: In Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to decide on the matter after his upcoming meeting with Donald Trump on Monday, and it is expected that he will refrain from annexation and limit himself to measures against the Palestinians and France.
14 ministers from the Likud party, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, had called on the Israeli prime minister to immediately annex the occupied West Bank in early July 2025.
