Saudi Crown Prince: Syria’s strong return is to the benefit of all Arab countries

PNN – In a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that the strong return of Syria is to the benefit of all Arab countries.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing SANA, the office of the President of Syria reported that, in this meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them, in a way that is in line with the interests of the two nations and the two countries, and will bring stability to the region and greater cooperation between the Arab countries.

According to this statement, Assad also called for the development of cooperation and coordination mechanisms among Arab countries and praised the role of Saudi Arabia in this regard.

In this meeting, Bin Salman also emphasized the need to strengthen the dialogue between Riyadh and Damascus and emphasized that the strong return of Syria is for the benefit of all Arab countries.

Assad arrived at Manama airport today with the welcome of Abdullah bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the special representative of the King of Bahrain, and Ahmed Rashid Khattab, the deputy secretary general of the Arab League.

This is the second appearance of the President of Syria at the Arab League summit since 2010, which was held in Sirte, Libya.

Bashar Assad’s first appearance at the meeting of the heads of the Union after 2010 and his attendance at the 32nd meeting of the heads of the member states of this union in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

In their extraordinary meeting held in Cairo on May 7, 2023, the foreign ministers of the Arab countries agreed to Syria’s return to the Arab League, and since then, the participation of Syrian delegations in the meetings of the Arab League has been resumed.

In November 2011, the Arab League suspended the membership of Damascus and imposed political and economic sanctions against it.
