“Saving Palestine” should be the special prayer of pilgrims on the Day of Arafah

“Saving Palestine” should be the special prayer of pilgrims on the Day of Arafah

“Mazeli bin Malik”, a prominent Malaysian professor and former Minister of Education of the country, in an exclusive interview with the international correspondent of Tasnim News Agency, explained the unique potential of the Hajj rituals in creating Islamic unity and supporting the oppressed Palestinian people.

Emphasizing the social, political and moral dimensions of the Hajj, he said that this obligation can become a global platform for solidarity of the Islamic nation, but due to organizational weaknesses and neglect of spiritual dimensions, these potentials have not been realized so far.

According to Dr. Ali Shariati in his book “Hajj”, this ritual is not only an individual spiritual journey, but also a collective experience with great potential for social and political transformation in the Islamic world.

The Hajj is the most prominent symbol of Islamic unity; millions of Muslims of different races, languages, and nationalities come together in the same attire and with common rituals. This unity eliminates superficial differences and reminds us of the common identity and purpose of Muslims.

Hence, the Hajj acts as an exercise for global Muslim solidarity. The Hajj is also a rare opportunity for the exchange of ideas, consensus, and awakening among Muslims.

If held with awareness and purpose, it can become a forum for examining challenges, exchanging knowledge, and designing strategies for the social and political development of Islamic countries. In addition, the World Hajj Congress is a platform for the formation of human and social relations beyond national and religious boundaries.

These relationships can strengthen mutual understanding and empathy among Muslims and pave the way for a more empathetic and cooperative society globally.
