“Selvan Momika” was ordered to be deported from Sweden.
According to Anatoly, the Swedish Immigration Court has agreed to the deportation order of Selvan Momika, an Iraqi immigrant living in Stockholm, who desecrated the Holy Quran several times last year.
Sweden’s immigration authorities refused to renew Selvan Momika’s residence permit last October, but his departure order was delayed for security reasons, according to Swedish television TV4.
This ruling was issued after it was found that Momika had provided false information in her asylum application.
This Koran desecrator appealed the decision, but his appeal was rejected by the Swedish judges.
Karin Dahlin, a member of Sweden’s Supreme Security Council, said in a press release: “The decision to deport (Momika) to Iraq cannot be implemented as long as she is at risk of persecution.”
According to Expressen, the judges decided to grant Momika a temporary stay, which is set to expire on April 16.
Selvan Momika, an Iraqi-born person who burned a Koran in front of Stockholm’s main mosque on the day of Eid al-Adha with the desire to obtain Swedish citizenship, claimed that the Swedish police no longer supported him and made him easy prey for Muslims.
In his attack on the Holy Quran, he provoked strong reactions from Islamic countries. Following these desecrations, the Swedish embassy in Baghdad was attacked by angry demonstrators and set on fire.
