Sergey Ryabkov: The risk of a major war in the region is serious, but it can be avoided.
Referring to the real danger of a major war in the region, Sergei Ryabkov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, said that, however, it can still be avoided if the parties exercise restraint.
Ryabkov said: We are closely following developments and events with concern. The risk of an all-out war is truly high.
He added: We ask all parties to exercise restraint. We are in intensive dialogue with the countries of the region. I remind you once again that a major war can be avoided, but everyone should exercise self-restraint.
Following the attacks of the Zionist regime against the Gaza Strip under the pretext of the complete elimination of the Palestinian Islamic Authority (Hamas), the tension in West Asia has increased sharply. The Zionist regime has bombarded the Gaza Strip since October 7 last year and has extended its barbaric attacks to Lebanon and Syria as well.
In response to the assassination of Martyr Haniyeh and the Secretary General of Hezbollah, Iran targeted the occupied territories with missiles on the evening of October 1st in a wide-ranging warning attack. After this attack, Tehran confirmed that 90% of the missiles had successfully hit the targets.
In response, the Zionist army has spoken of a retaliatory attack against Tehran and has claimed that it will respond at the “right time”. The leader of the revolution warned after the operation “Ode Sadeq 2” that any attack by the Zionist regime will be answered with much more severe attacks.
