Sharif’s views on meeting with the Iranian President.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif wrote on his social media account X on Sunday: “Today in Islamabad, I had a warm and cordial meeting with my brother, President of Iran, Masoud Pezzekian.”
The Pakistani Prime Minister added, “We reaffirmed our long-standing neighborly relations rooted in civilization, culture, religion, and shared interests. I expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of Iran and appreciated their courage and resistance to Israeli aggression. I once again thanked the President (of Iran) for Tehran’s support for Pakistan during the recent conflict in South Asia.”
“Shehbaz Sharif” added: “We also reaffirmed our firm stand for the rights of the innocent Palestinian people who are facing unprecedented violence and hardship. During our talks, we agreed to deepen Pakistan-Iran cooperation in trade, communications, and exchanges between the two countries and to work together to increase our bilateral trade to $10 billion.” The exchange of important memorandums of understanding and agreements today is an important step in building a bright future for our people.
