Significant global growth of anti-Semitism in the last 10 years

PNN – A survey by the Anti-Defamation League shows that anti-Semitic sentiment is at an all-time high in the world, and that anti-Semitism has doubled since the first study by the league in 2014.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network from the Palestinian Information Center, the results of this survey have shown that 46% of adults in the world – about 2.2 billion people – have anti-Semitic attitudes.

Jonathan Greenblatt, head of the union, which has its headquarters in New York, called these findings very disturbing and described this level of anti-Semitism as a global emergency.

He said in a press conference: We are witnessing the expansion of these approaches from the Middle East to Asia and from Europe to North and South America.

Younger participants in the survey had more anti-Semitic attitudes, with 40 percent of those under 35 believing that Jews are responsible for most wars.

The survey found that 20 percent of respondents had never heard of the Holocaust, while only 48 percent acknowledged its historical accuracy.

In the Middle East and North Africa, 76 percent of respondents believed that most of the metaphors and similes used about Jews were true.

The highest rate of anti-Semitic attitudes was recorded in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip with 97%.

This index is also 97% in Kuwait and 96% in Indonesia.

58,000 adults from 103 countries have participated in this survey, which was conducted in collaboration with Opsos Research Company.
