On Monday, Israeli Channel 13 TV quoted Smotrich as saying: The truth must be told that the issue of returning prisoners from Gaza is not the most important goal.

He added: Those who want to destroy Hamas and prevent another October 7th from happening should know that Hamas still rules Gaza, and this is an existential threat to the Israeli (regime).
These statements prompted a strong reaction from the families of Zionist prisoners.
The families of the Zionist prisoners emphasized: The Finance Minister’s words regarding the prisoners are a stain of shame. Smotrich announced the hard reality, and that reality is that the cabinet has decided to deliberately avoid the issue of the prisoners.
Meanwhile, Channel 12 of the Israeli television also reported that a number of Zionists demonstrated in front of the court where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is appearing and chanted slogans against him.
The demonstrators added that Netanyahu is the Prime Minister of a cabinet of murder and slaughter.
