PNN – Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister says the country is ready to provide its airspace to Moscow for the Russian president’s visit to Hungary to meet with his American counterpart.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Russia Today, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Gheorghe Georgiev, referring to the upcoming meeting between Russian and American Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Budapest, said that Sofia is ready to provide its airspace to Moscow for Putin’s visit.
Trump and Putin agreed during a phone call last week to meet in Budapest on a yet-to-be-determined date to discuss advancing a solution to the Ukraine war.

Georgiou said, noting that Bulgaria will not create any obstacles: When efforts are made to achieve peace, and if a meeting is a condition for it, the most logical option is to organize such a meeting in any way possible.
He added: If one of the parties is unable to attend, how can such a meeting be arranged?
Bulgaria does not share a border with Hungary, but both countries border Serbia, a country that has friendly relations with Russia and refuses to impose sanctions on Moscow.
Hungary is one of the few EU member states that does not support the diplomatic embargo on Russia. Budapest withdrew from the International Criminal Court in June. The court issued an arrest warrant for Putin in 2023 on charges of committing war crimes in Ukraine. Russia, which is not a member of the court, has described the warrant as having no legal validity and rejected it.
