South Africa welcomes the International Court of Justice ruling on Gaza

PNN – The South African delegation at the International Court of Justice welcomed the court’s order to the Zionist regime to end the famine in Gaza.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network from Al-Jazeera, the spokesperson of the South African delegation at the International Court of Justice said: The new order of the court obliges Israel to cooperate with the United Nations.

He added: The new court ruling also includes Israel’s (regime) cooperation with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA).

The spokesman for the South African delegation also said that Israel will not comply with the court’s orders, so its allies should pressure it.

The judges of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Thursday unanimously ordered the Israeli regime to take all necessary and effective measures to ensure the arrival of basic food for the Palestinian residents of Gaza without delay.

In their order to the Zionist regime, the judges of the International Court of Justice wrote: This court observes that the Palestinians in Gaza are not only facing the risk of starvation, but a famine is taking place in this area.

These new measures have been proposed at the request of South Africa and as part of the country’s complaint against the Israeli regime. This court had previously announced that it will examine the issue of genocide of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel.

United Nations Human Rights Commissioner Volker Turk on Thursday also blamed the Zionist regime for creating a humanitarian crisis in Gaza and stated that imposing famine in this area is considered a “war crime”.

In an interview with the BBC, he stated: There is credible evidence that Israel (regime) is using famine as a weapon of war in Gaza.
