South Korea worried about Washington’s support outlook

PNN – South Korea, which in recent decades has based its defense structure on the presence and military support of the United States against North Korea, has recently expressed concern about the future of its alliance with Washington; Now, in the recent statements of the president of this country, the concern about the US support perspective was once again reflected.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the President of South Korea, Yoon Suk-yul, who during his term of office made a lot of efforts to strengthen relations and rely more on America. Now getting closer to the time of the US presidential election and the possibility of Donald Trump’s victory, in an interview with the Associated Press, he emphasized the necessity of denuclearization of North Korea by expressing implicit concern about the weakening of this alliance.

The President of South Korea told this news agency before leaving Seoul to participate in the meeting of the “Association of Southeast Asian Nations” (ASEAN) which is to be held in Laos: In this meeting, he will emphasize the denuclearization of North Korea as an important principle for regional peace.

Yul also said: North Korea’s leader wants to attract America’s attention by displaying nuclear power.

He added: In the upcoming ASEAN meeting, I will emphasize the importance of denuclearization of North Korea, which is a prerequisite for a free and peaceful region in the Indo-Pacific region.

The president of South Korea said: This is a clear message to the international community that they will never ignore North Korea’s reckless actions.

Yul further said: North Korea recently exposed and showed its nuclear facilities apparently to attract the attention of the United States and the international community on the eve of the American elections, and it seems that Pyongyang is ready for other provocative actions, such as a nuclear test.

The Associated Press reported: However, Yul says he is confident that the “ironclad” alliance between South Korea and the US will continue, regardless of the outcome of the US election.
