Sudanese army also takes control of the Central Bank building.
According to Al Jazeera, the Sudanese army spokesman stated on Saturday: “We have taken control of the main building of the Central Bank, the Zain Tower, and the Sahel and Sahara Bank in Khartoum.”
A statement issued by the Sudanese army spokesman on this matter states: “We also have control of the University of Sudan, Al-Bayan College, west of Khartoum, the Friendship Hall and the National Museum in Al-Muqrin.”
On the other hand, Al Jazeera’s field source also reported: “The Sudanese army has recaptured the Al-Fath Tower in the center of Khartoum.”
This comes after the Sudanese army managed to push back the so-called Rapid Support Forces commanded by Hamidati after nearly a year of fighting.
The Sudanese army released images yesterday showing that it had succeeded in liberating the Republic Palace after advancing in the capital.
