Supporters of Palestine went on a hunger strike in front of the White House.
The Guardian newspaper wrote last night that left-wing activists along with Cynthia Nixon from Hollywood actors, in a news conference in front of the White House, condemned the support of the Palestinian cause and the actions of the US President and his senior government officials.
The strikers criticized the Biden government for allowing the bombardment and ground invasion of the Zionist regime, which, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, has killed nearly 15,000 people, including more than 6,000 children.
The hunger strike comes amid reports of growing rifts within the Biden administration over its support for Israel’s attack despite rising civilian casualties, the displacement of large numbers of Gaza residents, and shortages of food, fuel, and water.
This action is the latest in a series of protests by leftist groups – some of whom were even Jewish – against the White House and Congress.
During these protests, Israel has been accused of committing “genocide” in Gaza, and the inaction of the Biden administration and its open support for Tel Aviv have been condemned.
Yesterday, following the end of the four-day temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Qatar, as one of the mediating countries, announced that Hamas and Tel Aviv have reached an agreement to extend the ceasefire for 48 hours.
The Hamas movement also announced that it has reached an agreement with Qatar and Egypt on the extension of the temporary humanitarian ceasefire for another 2 days based on the same conditions as the previous ceasefire.
Earlier, hundreds of protesters in New York came to the streets to demand a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the end of the military support of the Biden government to the Zionist regime, and according to the police, they blocked the Manhattan Bridge for 2 hours.
Reports indicate that the protesters chanted “Let Gaza live” with clenched fists, and some had the slogan “Cease fire now” written on their shirts.
The Washington Post newspaper reported yesterday (December 5) that the Gaza war has become the biggest crisis in the foreign policy of Biden’s presidency, and the differences in the White House have progressed to such an extent that in recent days, a number of government employees have demanded a meeting with the president’s senior advisers. have become America.
