Suspicious Turkish movements in Iraq: from installing communication systems to a sudden increase in troops.
According to Al-Ma’aluma, an informed source announced that in five mountainous areas 16 kilometers from the border strip towards the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, communication systems have been secretly installed by engineering teams with the support of Turkish forces.
He added: It is not yet known whether these communication systems are operating in military or civilian fields. This is while Turkish mobile phone lines are active at much greater distances from the border strip, and this raises many questions about the reason for installing the aforementioned communication systems near the Kurdistan Region.
Informed sources have also announced that Turkey has suddenly increased the number of its troops in its most important bases in Nineveh, Iraq.
They added that the Zelikan base located near Bashiqa has witnessed the arrival of Turkish special forces with armored vehicles over the past three days.
The increase in these forces in the largest and most important Turkish base deep in Iraq, 40 kilometers from Mosul, has raised many doubts.
