Tahrir al-Sham leader’s attempt to present a favorable image of himself.
The Lebanese news site Al-Nashra reported that he was trying to present an acceptable image of himself, referring to the images published from the talks and even the presence of Abu Muhammad Al-Julani in the media and among his supporters.
The website also wrote in an article referring to CNN’s interview with Abu Muhammad Al-Julani, the leader of the terrorist group Tahrir al-Sham, that Al-Julani appeared in the media with a new outfit, a neat beard, short hair, and speeches that he tried to make acceptable to all sects and groups. This is even though he was a direct disciple of Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, a graduate of the Al-Qaeda school, and a disciple of Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, the former leader of ISIS in Iraq, who later formed the terrorist Front Al-Nusra in Syria and changed it to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham or Fateh al-Sham in 2016. However, today he shows himself to be politically open and claims to be seeking to liberate Syria!
In 2015, describing the activities of the Nusra Front, Al-Julani said that the movement had no plans or plans to attack the West and its interests. He stated that he had received direct orders from Ayman al-Zawahiri not to use Syria as a center for attacks on American or European resources.
However, the consequences of the Nusra Front’s presence in Lebanon in the form of car bombs and suicide bombers reached Lebanon, killing a significant number of people in the country. They sought to create a sectarian and religious war, and this should not be forgotten when analyzing the personality of “Ahmad al-Sharaa,” who is claimed to be the real name of Abu Muhammad al-Julani.
The newsletter wrote that Al-Julani began his terrorist activities in Al-Qaeda and ISIS after he was released from a US prison in Iraq in 2008. Some sources believe that understanding the developments in Syria requires distinguishing between Al-Julani’s personality in the current situation and in the past. He currently claims that he will even dissolve Hayat Tahrir al-Sham if it remains a terrorist group.
The al-Jolani currently seen is someone who has entered the arena with direct and substantial support from Turkey, with the weapons support of the United States and the Zionist regime, and with aid from Ukraine. Of course, it should be said that his movements are not only aimed at the Syrian government, and Turkey has specific goals in supporting al-Jolani, including striking at the Kurdish SDF forces in Syria, although it seems that these clashes will be delayed.
