PNN – The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi stated that the ball is in America’s court and they must prove that they want an agreement, adding: If they are honest, I am sure we will be on the path to an agreement.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, said in an interview with the BBC: Iran is ready to compromise with the United States to reach a nuclear deal, provided that the Americans negotiate the lifting of sanctions.

He clarified: The ball is in America’s court and they have to prove that they want an agreement. If they are honest, I am sure we will be on the path to an agreement.

Confirming the holding of the second round of talks in Geneva, Takht-Ravanchi said: These talks have been more or less positive so far, but it is still too early to judge.

Regarding the enrichment of uranium to 60 percent, Iran’s deputy foreign minister said: If they are ready to talk about sanctions, we are ready to talk about this issue and other issues related to the nuclear program.

He also noted about the issues under negotiation: Our understanding is that they have come to the conclusion that if they want an agreement, they must focus on the nuclear issue.

Rejecting negotiations over Iran’s missile program, he said: When the Israelis and Americans attacked us, missiles came to our aid, so how can we accept depriving ourselves of defense capabilities?

The regional consensus is against war.

The senior diplomat expressed concern about the US President’s contradictory messages, saying: They have said publicly and have also announced in private messages through Oman that they want issues to be resolved peacefully.

In response to the threatening messages from American officials, Takht-Ravanchi said, referring to the messages transmitted through Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaid, We do not hear anything like this in private messages.

He also warned about the increased US military presence in the region, saying: Another war would be catastrophic and bad for everyone. Everyone would suffer, especially those who initiated the aggression.
